What makes me think our kitchen walls have tales to tell? Well, don't all walls?
Think about it. From the various ways they're constructed, to the many layers of paint, every wall in every home is unique. Right now, the walls in our kitchen are undergoing some major changes and, yes, they've got some tales to tell!

A bit of historyWhile our walls are not old, old—not yet one hundred years old —they’re old enough to have the character of lathing, plaster and paint colors indicative of the eras through which they’ve passed. Our house was built in 1917 and we're possibly only the third family to own it. Even though we've lived here nearly 20 years, we have decades to go before matching the dear, elderly couple from whom we bought it. So, our house is 90-yrs-old. And how old is the kitchen? Ninety years old! |

That's right, the kitchen is still in its original state. It's never been updated. We think it's rather cool. But we also think it's bit inconvenient. Look at the sink, for crying out loud! It hangs on the wall. And there are no cupboards!
