Adunate: Who we are
“We” is actually me—Diahann Lohr—writing and designing out of a 1917 American Foursquare in Watertown, WI. The view out my window is fantastic!
Like each of you, I've walked a path of uniqueness that inspires the work I do today. Many years ago...okay, many, MANY years ago...when my friends went off to college, I stayed home and created. I created words. I created art. Above all, together with my handsome young husband, I created babies.
When my babies went off to school, I went to work. I worked in banking and insurance, and one college course at a time I studied accounting, human relations and marketing (quite ironic since a definite math phobia runs through my very right-sided brain). Along with experience, I acquired good insight to customer service and the business world. In the meantime, I stopped creating babies but I still created words and art.
One day, I realized people were willing to pay for my words and art. Cool! I changed my direction to areas more suitable to my nature. How wise! Eventually, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in journalism and graphic design, and from Madison Area Technical College with a certificate in advanced web design.
And just what does this biographical dribble have to do with you?
Well, today I offer more than 15 years of experience in writing, graphic and web design. My freelance writing has appeared in a variety of newspapers and magazines, and my design benefits a broad base of non-profit and business organizations.
My creativity is inspired by a wealth of life, education and job experiences. My faith in God, my family and life on the farm—in that order—are my guiding principles. I apply these same principles to the work I do for you.
